Just minutes from Manhattan, Collective Retreats is a rustic-luxury hotel experience just a ferry ride away. It’s the best of both worlds: a relaxing, quiet pause from the busyness of city life, and a lively, communal space to move, play, and explore all that Governer’s island has to offer.
As an intern for Highgate Hotels, I supported both creative direction and content production. I developed slide decks and moodboards to guide multiple shoots, assisted with planning, and photographed on site. I also designed collateral for a press event, and edited video content for advertising campaigns and website reels. This mix of strategy and hands-on creative work allowed me to assist in how the retreat is represented—capturing the beauty, unexpected adventure, and simplicity of Collective Retreats, all against the backdrop of the city skyline.

COLLATERAL DESIGNFor a press event, I designed jar labels, a bag tag, and a recipe postcard for “The Perfect Collective Parfait.” The gift let guests bring a piece of the retreat home—a little reminder of their time on the island.
THE PERFECT PICNIC
To showcase Collective Retreat’s picnic add-on that lets guests savor the island’s beauty at their own pace, I photographed a playful (and tasty) afternoon.
FAMILY FUNI documented the retreat’s family offerings, focusing on the games, laughter, and the sense of ease that makes the island a true escape for all ages.

To spotlight the island’s variety, I built moodboards, shootdecks, and ultimately photographed friends hiking, biking, and hammocking against the backdrop of the city.
